About the role#
The NYISO is looking for a ServiceNow Platform Administration Co-Op to support the health and reliability of our platform. You will work alongside platform engineers and administrators to manage updates, monitor system performance, and improve automated workflows. This role offers practical experience with enterprise platform administration, low-code configuration, data analysis, and IT service management.
What you'll do#
- Assist with planning and executing ServiceNow application and plug-in updates.
- Review release notes and document requirements for upgrades.
- Perform updates in lower environments and validate core platform functionality.
- Track testing issues and support remediation activities.
- Develop implementation checklists and maintain upgrade documentation.
- Create and enhance service catalog items and record producers.
- Support automated workflow development using low-code tools.
- Build reports and dashboards for platform utilization and operational metrics.
- Analyze data to identify trends, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities.
- Participate in platform governance, CMDB support, and data quality activities.
- Collaborate with application owners, infrastructure specialists, and security professionals.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or Management Information Systems.
- Interest in enterprise platform administration, workflow automation, databases, or reporting.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Attention to detail regarding platform reliability, data quality, and process improvement.
- Capability to manage follow-up tasks and incorporate feedback.
- Interest in low-code development and business process automation.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and work in a collaborative environment.
- Experience with ServiceNow, Flow Designer, Agile methods, or process mapping is helpful but not required.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time co-op position.
- The role is hybrid, with the expectation that you are local to the Albany, New York area.
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a drug screening and background check.
