About the role#
The NYISO is seeking a ServiceNow CMDB and Discovery Co-Op to help maintain the health and accuracy of our configuration management database. You will work with our Service Graph professionals to perform data quality analysis, validate asset information, and build operational reports. This role supports our infrastructure visibility, audit readiness, and overall configuration management practices.
What you'll do#
- Review CMDB records to ensure they are accurate, complete, and current.
- Assist with ServiceNow Discovery validation and reconcile asset inventories.
- Identify and resolve missing, duplicate, or inconsistent configuration data.
- Support CMDB stewardship and general data cleanup tasks.
- Build reports and dashboards to help teams make operational decisions.
- Monitor Discovery coverage to maintain infrastructure asset visibility.
- Create documentation for CMDB, governance, and data quality processes.
- Support testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with reporting for compliance, internal controls, and audit readiness.
- Analyze data trends and suggest improvements.
- Coordinate with application owners and infrastructure specialists to gather information.
- Present your findings and project status to technical and business audiences.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- An interest in IT service management, databases, workflow automation, or enterprise applications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Attention to detail regarding data quality, compliance, and process improvement.
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Ability to learn new platforms and apply feedback to your work.
- Experience with ServiceNow or Flow Designer is preferred.
- Familiarity with Agile methods, user stories, or process mapping is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a hybrid position based in Rensselaer, New York.
- The role is a paid, full-time co-op.
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
