About the role#
NXP is hiring a Device/Yield Engineer Intern for the summer of 2027. You will work on-site at our Austin facility. This is a paid, full-time internship designed for students who will return to school or graduate at the end of the term.
What you'll do#
- Assist senior engineers with the design, development, and testing of semiconductor products.
- Run experiments in the lab, collect data, and analyze the results.
- Conduct research and document your findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals.
- Participate in technical reviews and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
- Learn and apply industry-standard tools and methodologies.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations to document your work.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics.
- A strong academic record.
- A genuine interest in semiconductors, electronics, or embedded systems.
- A basic understanding of digital or analog electronics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- A proactive attitude and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with a programming language like Python, C, C++, or Java is preferred.
- Prior experience with laboratory equipment or simulation tools is a plus.
