    Responsibilities: Position Overview:Novelis in Greensboro, GA has an opportunity to participate in our on-site summer 2027 internship. The Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability, and Automations (EMRA) team is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern that can join the team for approximately 12 weeks. The person in this role will have the opportunity to participate in relevant work and gain hands on industry experience. The intern will report to the Engineering Leader and will gain experience with project management, CAD designing, and the implementation of various tools and pieces of equipment with a focus on the work management process. A Mechanical Engineering Intern at the Novelis Greensboro site will work for the EMRA team in support of aluminum production in conjunction with the Operations and Process teams. An intern will have the opportunity to see the inner workings of large industrial machinery and systems, both from a mechanical perspective during repairs and/or maintenance, and from a program logic perspective while working with our Automations Team. An intern will gain meaningful experience and insight into industrial systems, machinery operation and reliability, electrical systems, industrial burners and furnaces, and molten metal practices. Responsibilities:Support the EMRA team throughout the plant with improvements, maintenance, and repairsDevelop improvement for general engineering processesUse CAD to design various tools/equipment and see through to implementation, if possibleGenerate reports and records of changes or improvements made; communicate reports and results to supervisor and other relevant plant personnelWork with outside contractors to scope/spec new, improved equipment for plant operationsWork with cross-functional teams (Process, Operations, EHS, etc.) to develop new protocols pertaining to safety initiativesMinimum Qualifications:Enrolled in an accredited 4-year University.Must be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or recent Graduate.Interested in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduation.Effective interpersonal and communication skills.Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employerCommitment to industrial safety and safe working practicesPreferred Qualifications:Prefer students majoring in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Applied Engineering, or a related fieldSolid business insightHigh interest in becoming an Engineer in a manufacturing environmentExperience with mechanical systems and hand tools a plusExperience with CAD programs a plusStrong leadership and teamwork skillsWhat We Offer:Novelis' benefits say a lot about how we care for each other.
