About the role#
Novelis is looking for an Automation Engineering Intern to join our team in Oswego, New York. This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027. You will report to the Automation Engineering Leader and work directly with our engineering team to support our manufacturing operations.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with team members on automation cluster management and backup strategies for data recovery.
- Develop and maintain work procedures and troubleshooting processes for various automation systems.
- Focus on equipment and process reliability to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Standardize work methodology within the automation environment.
What you'll need#
- You are a Junior or Senior student pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills with solid business acumen.
- A high interest in pursuing a career in automation within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with SQL programming and relational databases.
- Knowledge of Cisco server management and virtualization, preferably VMware.
- Experience with Windows operating system management and configuration in a networked environment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, JSON, C++, VB.Net, or PLC systems is a plus.
