About the role#
Novelis is looking for a Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our team in Oswego, New York. This is a full-time, on-site position for the summer of 2027. You will report to the Associate EMRA Leader and spend 10 to 12 weeks gaining hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Learn about industrial machinery, mechanical power transmission, and hydraulic or pneumatic systems.
- Support various Mechanical or Reliability Engineering projects.
- Develop and modify engineering drawings and models using CAD software.
- Participate in problem-solving activities, including breakdown repairs and root cause analysis.
- Work under the supervision of staff engineers to implement reliability and maintenance standards for equipment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited 4-year university with a classification of Junior or Senior.
- A major in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Familiarity with MS Office and AutoCAD products.
- Experience with precision measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team-based work.
- Current authorization to work in the United States for any employer.
