About the role#
This co-op position offers students the chance to work on engineering projects at our manufacturing facility in Alcoa, Tennessee. You will be assigned a manager and a mentor to guide your work. The role involves a mix of time in an office setting and time on the manufacturing floor, where temperatures can vary. You will work alongside other engineering staff on projects that impact our business operations.
What you'll do#
- Participate in engineering projects.
- Apply your education to real-world situations through hands-on learning.
- Assist with maintenance, repairs, and project planning.
- Collaborate with other engineering employees on assigned tasks.
- Maintain good standing as a co-op student with your university.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- Status as a student at the University of Tennessee - Knoxville or Tennessee Tech who qualifies for co-op status.
- Completion of your freshman year before the program starts.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above is preferred.
- Involvement in at least one extracurricular activity is preferred.
- Prior work or relevant experience is preferred.

- Status: Full-time, paid position.
