About the role#
The Environmental Engineering Intern will support the environmental team at our Bay Minette facility. You will assist in implementing and maintaining programs that ensure compliance with regulations and company sustainability goals. This role provides hands-on experience with environmental monitoring, data analysis, and project support in an industrial setting.
What you'll do#
- Support environmental compliance programs for air, water, and waste management.
- Collect, analyze, and report environmental data including emissions, wastewater, and hazardous waste.
- Gather routine samples across the facility.
- Participate in environmental audits and inspections to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Help develop and update environmental procedures, training materials, and documentation.
- Contribute to sustainability initiatives like energy efficiency and waste reduction projects.
- Research environmental regulations and best practices to support continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on environmental projects and corrective actions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related Environmental Science field.
- Basic knowledge of environmental regulations including EPA and state or local requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience with data analysis and report writing.
- Familiarity with environmental science concepts.
