About the role#
Join the Nokia Sunnyvale AI team to design, build, and deploy LLM and agent-based solutions. This hands-on R&D role focuses on tool-using agents, evaluations, and real-world product development. You will have the opportunity to deliver AI systems that impact production.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and deploy advanced AI/ML models and algorithms to analyze and interpret complex data.
- Implement machine learning models to improve applications like search, forecasting, and text mining.
- Develop agentic-based systems for anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, and other applications.
- Optimize existing machine learning models and pipelines for performance, scalability, and resource efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in machine learning, optimization algorithms, and deep-learning techniques.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Knowledge of search engines, vector databases, and their underlying algorithms.
- Experience with big data frameworks including Spark, Kafka, and Cassandra.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.

- Location: Sunnyvale, California (On-site).
- Term: Winter 2027 (January to May).
- Duration: 4 months.
- Employment: Full-time paid co-op.
