About the role#
Join the Nokia AI team in Sunnyvale for a hands-on R&D co-op position. You will work on designing, building, and deploying AI solutions, specifically focusing on tool-using agents and real-world product development. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to AI systems that impact production environments.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and deploy advanced AI and machine learning models to interpret complex data.
- Implement machine learning models for applications like search, forecasting, and text mining.
- Create agentic-based systems for tasks such as anomaly detection and root-cause analysis.
- Optimize existing machine learning models and pipelines to improve performance, scalability, and resource efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Knowledge of machine learning, optimization algorithms, and deep-learning techniques.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Familiarity with search engines, vector databases, and their underlying algorithms.
- Experience with big data frameworks including Spark, Kafka, and Cassandra.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

- Location: Sunnyvale, California (On-site).
- Term: Winter 2027 (January to May 2027).
- Duration: 4 months.
