About the role#
We are looking for three interns to join us for a four-month term from January to April 2027. You will work on-site in Ottawa, Ontario, to support automation initiatives within our networking domains. This role involves designing agentic workflows and collaborating with engineers to improve operational efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Design, implement, and evaluate modular agentic workflows, custom agent skills, and tool-calling interfaces to automate complex multi-step tasks.
- Prepare evaluation datasets and create scripts to benchmark agentic accuracy, tool-use reliability, and output consistency.
- Test NTA scripts with autonomous agents.
- Collaborate with engineers across IP, Optical, and Fixed Networks.
- Contribute to reference HLD/LLDs.
- Maintain documentation, how-to guides, and wiki updates in partnership with domain experts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in the third or fourth year of a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer, Software, or Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Science.
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts.
- Proficiency with Linux operating systems, Java, and programming concepts.
- Scripting experience in Bash, Perl, or Python.
- Understanding of DevOps principles, including cloud concepts (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or GitLab CI).
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and agile development.
- Interest in the AI landscape, including LLMs, AI APIs, vector databases, and prompt engineering.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Preferred: Experience with SQL, operational workflows, Power Automate, forecasting, or prior software development project experience.
