About the role#
Ericsson is seeking a Finance Data Science and Automation Intern to support the growth of its North American business. This role offers exposure to Finance, Accounting, Commercial, and Operations teams. You will address complex business challenges through technology, automation, and data science within the telecommunications industry.
What you'll do#
- Modernize finance processes by applying data science, AI, and analytics to solve business problems.
- Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines using SQL, Python, and automation tools.
- Improve data quality, governance, documentation, and reporting standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Apply machine learning and advanced analytics to generate predictive insights.
- Develop AI agents and automation solutions to streamline reporting and decision support.
- Support Period End Closing quality checks, reconciliations, and financial performance analysis.
- Build financial models, forecasts, and business cases.
- Create Power BI dashboards and self-service analytics.
- Prepare executive-ready insights, presentations, and recommendations for finance leadership.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or Mathematics.
- A minimum 2.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, Excel, and Power BI or similar reporting tools.
- Understanding of ETL, data pipelines, data modeling, and reporting concepts.
- Familiarity with cloud analytics platforms, APIs, Power Query, DAX, Azure, Fabric, or Databricks is a plus.
- Interest in financial analysis, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to solve ambiguous business problems.
- Demonstrated curiosity, ownership, and a continuous learning mindset.
