About the role#
NiSource is seeking a Summer Engineering Generation Intern for a 12-week program starting in May 2027. You will join our department to complete meaningful tasks, collaborate on projects, and build professional relationships across the company. This role provides an overview of our operations and the utilities industry while you participate in professional development exercises.
What you'll do#
- Manage permit applications, job order preparation, and material procurement.
- Maintain and monitor project files to ensure accuracy.
- Support project planning, estimating, scheduling, and risk analysis.
- Assist with bid packet preparation and contractor selection.
- Review and develop course content and maintain software programs for compliance areas.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year degree program for Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Education, or Technology.
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate study.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week on-site.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based in Wheatfield, Indiana, or Michigan City, Indiana.
- Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the reporting location.
- This position requires on-site work and does not offer visa sponsorship.
