About the role#
We are looking for a Data Engineer Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. This role offers hands-on experience working alongside engineers on projects that support our enterprise software and data strategy. You will gain exposure to enterprise-level data architecture while working in a collaborative environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines that support analytics and application development.
- Contribute to data architecture using AWS and Databricks.
- Gather, clean, and transform data from various sources into usable formats.
- Collaborate with software developers, data analysts, and product teams to understand data needs.
- Explore opportunities to automate manual processes and improve data workflows.
- Participate in team meetings, code reviews, and brainstorming sessions.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or post secondary education in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with SQL and at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Interest in cloud platforms, specifically AWS, and big data tools like Spark or Databricks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is hybrid, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
- Office locations include Cedar Rapids, IA, Lake Saint Louis, MO, or Mandan, ND.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
