About the role#
Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineers build, operate, and maintain the infrastructure that powers our platforms and production deployments. As an intern, you will work alongside full-time engineers to deploy software in real production environments. You will own end-to-end execution of infrastructure projects, from debugging distributed systems to designing improvements that scale across multiple deployments.
What you'll do#
- Deploy and operate Palantir software across production environments, including monitoring, alerting, configuration management, and upgrades.
- Debug, improve, and optimize services and infrastructure with a focus on reliability and scalability.
- Reduce manual operations by automating workflows, processes, and runbooks.
- Develop novel solutions in our Foundry and Apollo platforms to solve infrastructure challenges.
What you'll need#
- Engineering background in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
- Strong proficiency with one or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, Go, C++, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Must be planning on graduating in 2028.
- Active US Security clearance, or eligibility and willingness to obtain one prior to the start of the internship.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal direction.
- Confidence troubleshooting complex systems issues using observability tools and service logs.
- Comfort with large-scale production systems and technologies.
- Ability to identify and automate highly manual tasks.
- Eagerness to solve technical problems using cloud infrastructure, storage systems, and other tooling.
- Ability to collaborate across teams of technical and non-technical individuals.
