About the role#
NISC is hiring a Database Conversion Programming Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship focused on the research, design, and conversion of data for our software platforms. You will work on-site in either Lake St. Louis, Missouri, or Mandan, North Dakota.
What you'll do#
- Research, design, and convert Member and customer data to NISC platforms.
- Fix data issues and suggest improvements to conversion processes.
- Analyze and map data to create effective conversion approaches.
- Conduct quality testing, including data validation, verification, and balancing.
- Communicate regularly with internal and external project stakeholders.
- Track all project information in our internal issue tracking tool.
- Follow established conversion methodologies and guidelines.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Foundational knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and Linux command-line interfaces.
- Familiarity with ETL tools, business software, project management theory, and the utility industry.
- Strong research, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly.
- A positive attitude when working with team members and customers.
