    About the role#

    NISC is hiring a Database Conversion Programming Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship focused on the research, design, and conversion of data for our software platforms. You will work on-site in either Lake St. Louis, Missouri, or Mandan, North Dakota.

    What you'll do#

    • Research, design, and convert Member and customer data to NISC platforms.
    • Fix data issues and suggest improvements to conversion processes.
    • Analyze and map data to create effective conversion approaches.
    • Conduct quality testing, including data validation, verification, and balancing.
    • Communicate regularly with internal and external project stakeholders.
    • Track all project information in our internal issue tracking tool.
    • Follow established conversion methodologies and guidelines.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Foundational knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and Linux command-line interfaces.
    • Familiarity with ETL tools, business software, project management theory, and the utility industry.
    • Strong research, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly.
    • A positive attitude when working with team members and customers.

    • Locations: Lake St. Louis, MO or Mandan, ND.
    • Term: Summer 2027 (May through August).
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Status: Full-time, paid internship.
