About the role#
The New York Post is seeking a Sports Social Media Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This is a paid, part-time position requiring 24 hours per week. The internship runs from September 14, 2026, to November 20, 2026. This role is open to current juniors and seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates who completed their degree within the past year. Candidates should be pursuing degrees in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Media Studies, or Business Administration.
What you'll do#
- Engage with readers across social platforms to amplify sports coverage and build excitement around major events.
- Curate and share viral sports content to maintain active social feeds.
- Assist in managing sports social media accounts to stay ahead of trends.
- Collaborate with the sports editorial team to highlight breaking news, game highlights, and fan-favorite content.
- Monitor social media performance to learn how to boost engagement and grow the sports audience.
What you'll need#
- Strong enthusiasm for sports and the world of sports journalism.
- Previous experience with social media, including a knack for storytelling and audience engagement.
- Creative thinking skills to craft attention-grabbing posts.
- Knowledge of current sports news, statistics, and trends.
