About the role#
MNP is seeking a Co-op Student for the Property Tax Services team in Calgary. This role involves working within a regulatory framework to help clients maximize tax recovery potential on real estate. The position is full-time and available for Summer 2027 and Fall 2027 terms.
What you'll do#
- Conduct real estate market studies.
- Liaise with municipalities, real estate brokers, developers, landlords, and tenants to collect information for annual real estate valuations.
- Determine real estate values using various appraisal methods.
- Collect and update client information, including income and expense statements and rent rolls.
- Support the design and development of deliverables such as proposals, engagement letters, reports, and presentations.
- Work collaboratively with the client engagement team.
- Maintain flexibility to travel as necessary.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or law.
- Knowledge of current legislation and its impact on the taxation of commercial properties.
- Understanding of real estate valuation for assessment purposes.
