About the role#
BDO’s Business Incentives Group (BIG) helps companies identify and claim government incentives designed to promote innovation and economic growth, such as the Research & Development Tax Credit. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a consulting practice while learning to support clients across various industries including technology, manufacturing, and life sciences. This role focuses on developing your professional skills in communication, project management, and business development.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the execution of multiple client engagements.
- Collaborate with BIG professionals to develop and implement strategies and processes.
- Establish effective working relationships with BDO employees.
- Contribute to the development of your own technical acumen and the firm's market presence.
- Conduct business development research and identify opportunities for new and existing clients.
- Support the culture of the local office and the firm.
- Perform other duties as required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program, with a preference for studies in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, Communications, or Law.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
- Capability to work independently or within a group setting.
- Professionalism when interacting with individuals at all organizational levels.
- A desire to understand the reasoning behind tasks and an interest in performing self-study.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word, is preferred.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
