About the role#
Milliman’s Milwaukee Property and Casualty practice invites students to join our summer actuarial internship program. You will work alongside consultants and senior management on projects ranging from loss reserve estimates to rating plans. This role provides practical experience in a professional consulting environment.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with project teams on data analysis and contribute to client deliverables.
- Perform peer reviews and quality checks on project work.
- Build technical proficiency in Excel, R, Python, SQL, VBA, and PowerBI.
- Participate in professional meetings, training sessions, and company social events.
- Develop core professional skills including communication, task management, and presenting.
- Receive mentorship and feedback to support your career growth.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related quantitative field.
- At least one semester of school remaining after the internship.
- At least one actuarial exam passed at the time of application.
- Proficiency with MS Excel and other MS Office tools.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work on multiple teams simultaneously and articulate ideas clearly.
- Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and reliability.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future.
- Experience with programming or statistical tools such as R, Python, SAS, or VBA is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
- The term for this position is Summer 2027.
- A housing stipend is provided for this role.
