About the role#
This internship offers rising university juniors or seniors the chance to work on a manufacturing process improvement project. You will report to a Senior Process Engineer or a Process Improvement Manager at the Pendleton Finishing Plant. This is a full-time, hourly paid position running from mid-May through the first week of August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Manage a manufacturing project to achieve specific results.
- Use continuous improvement techniques to find solutions.
- Identify unique approaches to problem solving.
- Communicate project updates one-to-one and in group settings.
- Collaborate with a diverse team to implement project improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS degree program as a rising junior or senior.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Availability to attend the Summer Challenge Forum in early June 2027.
- Ability to participate in the final presentation review at the end of the summer.
- Preference is given to students majoring in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.

- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
