About the role#
This internship is based at the Limestone Plant in Gaffney, South Carolina. You will report to the Process Improvement Manager and department manager. The role focuses on continuous improvement efforts within the slashing department. Your primary project involves implementing manufacturing best practices to reduce downtime and optimize size formulas to improve warp run ability.
What you'll do#
- Learn the factors and conditions that impact our processes and products, including environmental impacts.
- Manage your assigned project using sound project management skills.
- Analyze problems and implement solutions using critical thinking and focused improvement methods.
- Use creative thinking to find unique ways to make processes more consistent, faster, and efficient.
- Create diagrams, charts, and tables to present your findings and support your recommendations.
- Work with a diverse group of associates to meet project and location goals.
- Participate fully in the site Safety Process.
What you'll need#
- You are a rising Junior or Senior working toward a BS degree in Textile, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes.
- You are a detail-oriented, self-starter who takes ownership of your work.
- Ability to work effectively and achieve results in a team environment.
- A desire to identify and pursue improvement opportunities in efficiency and automation.
