About the role#
As a Technology Development Yield Enhancement Engineering Intern, you will work within Physical Failure Analysis. You will gain experience with the processes and strategies used in a semiconductor yield department. You will be assigned a project to build your problem-solving skills and contribute to how we conduct failure analysis.
What you'll do#
- Perform electrical testing and physical failure analysis on DRAM, NAND, or Emerging memory devices.
- Use wet and dry techniques to delayer failing devices.
- Conduct cross-section analysis using Focused Ion Beam and STEM/TEM equipment.
- Perform top-down analysis using SEM operation.
- Generate slice and view images to provide feedback for inline process improvements.
- Identify and report new failure mechanisms.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year program, ranging from first-year to junior status, or expected graduation by spring 2027.
- A major in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
- Experience working in a laboratory setting.
- Strong analytical skills.
