About the role#
As a Physical Design Engineering Graduate Intern, you will participate in the physical implementation of silicon designs. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to optimize designs for performance and manufacturability while gaining experience in a professional engineering environment.
What you'll do#
- Support physical design implementation tasks such as synthesis, place-and-route, and floor planning.
- Assist with verification and signoff activities to ensure designs meet performance standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve design scalability and automation.
- Apply optimization techniques to improve power, performance, and area efficiency.
- Perform clock tree synthesis and static timing analysis to meet design constraints.
- Explore strategies for low-power design and power reduction.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a master’s degree program for electrical engineering or computer engineering.
- At least 3 months of experience with physical design tools and flows.
- Knowledge of low-power design techniques and power reduction methods.
- Familiarity with clock tree synthesis and design optimization principles.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship role.
- Work is on-site at one of the following locations: Folsom, California; Santa Clara, California; or Phoenix, Arizona.
- The internship follows a rolling term.
