This internship provides hands-on experience within the New Mexico Advanced Packaging Technology Manufacturing plant. You will work in a manufacturing environment performing tasks related to wafer movement, equipment setup, and production process monitoring. This is a rolling, part-time position designed to align with your academic schedule.
What you'll do#
- Perform equipment setup and monitor production processes.
- Conduct quality checks and assist in troubleshooting machinery.
- Optimize production efficiency to meet established output goals.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Execute functions associated with wafer movement within the factory.
- Work in a clean room environment, which requires wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, and gloves.
- Lift up to 35 pounds (18 kg) as required, with frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an AAS degree or certification program in Automotive Technology, Aviation Technology, Electrical Trades, HVAC, Industrial Automation Technology (Mechatronics), Machine Tool Technology, or a related field.
- At least one month of experience using Microsoft applications such as Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Preferred: Knowledge of electronics, equipment installation, repair, and operations.
- Preferred: Experience with hands-on work including auto repair, welding, soldering, robotics, or reading schematics and diagrams.
Location & details#
- Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time (20-32 hours per week during the school year; up to 40 hours per week during breaks and summers).
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
