About the role#
This internship program offers hands-on experience for students interested in semiconductor manufacturing. You will work within the New Mexico Advanced Packaging Technology Manufacturing plant to support production operations. The role involves performing equipment setup, monitoring processes, and moving wafers within the factory. You will work alongside engineering and operations teams to maintain safety and quality standards while learning about the industry.
What you'll do#
- Perform equipment setup and monitor production processes.
- Conduct quality checks and assist in troubleshooting machinery.
- Optimize production efficiency to meet output goals.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Perform functions associated with wafer movement within the factory.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an AAS degree or certification program in Automotive Technology, Aviation Technology, Electrical Trades, HVAC/R, Industrial Automation Technology, or Machine Tool Technology.
- At least one month of experience with Microsoft applications like Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds four times a day.
- Willingness to work in a clean room environment, including wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, and gloves.
- Preferred experience includes equipment troubleshooting, installation, repair, auto repair, welding, soldering, robotics, and reading schematics.

- Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Term: Rolling.
- Schedule: Part-time, 20-32 hours per week during the school year, up to 40 hours per week during breaks and summers. Hours are flexible around school schedules but must align with assigned factory shifts.
