About the role#
Marvell Technology is seeking a PhD-level Applied Machine Learning Scientist Intern to join the IT Data Analytics team. This role focuses on driving data intelligence and architecture initiatives by delivering insights and analytics solutions that support operational and leadership decision-making. You will work alongside data scientists and engineers to address complex business challenges through data-driven strategies.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the data science team to gather, clean, and preprocess data from various sources.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and relationships within large datasets.
- Assist in building, optimizing, and deploying machine learning models to solve business problems.
- Develop data visualizations, dashboards, and reports using tools such as Power BI or Python libraries.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear manner.
- Support data integration and engineering activities, including ETL processes, within Snowflake or Databricks environments.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis, including libraries like pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and matplotlib.
- Knowledge of SQL for querying databases.
- Understanding of basic statistical concepts and machine learning algorithms, such as regression, classification, and clustering.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI or Python libraries such as seaborn and Plotly.
- Proficiency in data preprocessing and transformation to extract insights from raw datasets.
- Familiarity with Generative AI and Large Language Models is considered a plus.
