About the role#
As a Dry Etch Process Development Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience developing and optimizing semiconductor etch processes in a research and development environment. Working under the mentorship of experienced engineers, you will contribute to technical projects focused on process development, experimentation, and data analysis. The internship culminates in a presentation of project results to engineering and leadership teams.
What you'll do#
- Research and develop innovative solutions that support future memory technologies and advanced dry etch process development.
- Develop, complete, and analyze experiments to optimize dry etch processes and improve product performance.
- Perform statistical analysis of technology development and pilot manufacturing data to identify trends and drive process improvements.
- Collaborate with process, equipment, integration, and multi-functional engineering teams to solve complex technical challenges.
- Apply AI-enabled analytical tools, programming, or automation solutions to improve data analysis, engineering workflows, and technical decision-making.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an M.S. or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
- Must remain enrolled as a student throughout the internship period.
- Knowledge of dry etch semiconductor processing, plasma physics, or related semiconductor fabrication technologies.
- Experience with experimental design, statistical analysis, and data interpretation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Preferred experience includes programming, scripting, data analytics, and familiarity with platforms such as Python, JMP, or MATLAB.
