About the role#
POET is looking for a student to join the team as a Lab Technician. This is a paid, full-time, on-site role based in North Manchester, Indiana. You will support our bioprocessing operations by performing tests that help us maintain quality control and process standards. This position is available on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Collect samples for lab analysis at specific locations and intervals.
- Perform lab tests on process samples using wet chemistry methods.
- Operate and calibrate laboratory equipment including liquid chromatography, pH meters, and analytical balances.
- Record test results on standardized forms and enter data into the plant database.
- Communicate findings to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain lab safety by using personal protective equipment and following proper chemical handling procedures.
- Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment to ensure a safe work environment.
What you'll need#
- Completed junior level courses in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
- Practical experience with HPLC, analytical balances, and pipettes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and a willingness to learn new software programs.
- Ability to work in an environment that requires wearing personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection.
- Comfort working in various conditions, including potential exposure to extreme temperatures and heights.
Location & details#
- This role is located on-site in North Manchester, Indiana.
- The schedule is 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with some weekend work required.
