    About the role#

    PBS Biotech is seeking a Research Associate Intern to join our bioprocess R&D team in Camarillo, California. This role offers hands-on experience working with cell and gene therapy manufacturing technologies. You will work alongside scientists on projects related to process development and product improvement. Successful interns may be considered for a full-time Research Associate position based on performance and business needs.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform daily laboratory operations including cleaning, sterility maintenance, material stocking, and equipment monitoring.
    • Manage laboratory equipment and materials.
    • Operate and maintain lab equipment and bioreactors.
    • Execute basic cell culture and analytical operations, such as media preparation, bioreactor set up, seed culture expansion, and cell growth monitoring.
    • Generate and record data from experiments and write accurate reports.
    • Follow existing Standard Operating Procedures and assist in writing or reviewing new ones.
    • Support product development through biological testing and communication with the Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality departments.

    What you'll need#

    • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or Biotechnology.
    • Proficiency in aseptic cell culture techniques.
    • Experience with mammalian cell culture is required, and bioreactor operation experience is a plus.
    • Ability to perform tasks accurately and provide creative solutions.
    • Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.

    • Employment: Full-time, paid internship.
    • Schedule: Rolling term with flexibility for weekend work as needed.
