About the role#
PBS Biotech is seeking a Research Associate Intern to join the bioprocess R&D team in Camarillo, California. This role offers hands-on experience in cell and gene therapy manufacturing, working directly with single-use bioreactor technology and process development. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Perform daily laboratory operations, including cleaning, sterility maintenance, material stocking, and equipment monitoring.
- Operate and maintain lab equipment and bioreactors.
- Execute cell culture and analytical operations, such as media preparation, bioreactor setup, seed culture expansion, and cell growth monitoring.
- Assist in experiments for bioprocess development, optimization, and characterization.
- Support internal product development through biological testing and cross-departmental communication.
- Generate, record, and report experimental data accurately and in a timely manner.
- Follow and contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or Biotechnology.
- Proficiency in aseptic cell culture techniques.
- Experience with mammalian cell culture (bioreactor operation experience is a plus).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
- Ability to provide creative solutions and perform tasks with high accuracy and reproducibility.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends as required by experiments.
