About the role#
This internship is part of the Metrology Technology Development group. You will work on projects related to semiconductor manufacturing needs, including optical thin films, scatterometry, X-ray, overlay, and topography. This role involves collaborating with engineers in Boise and across global sites to develop solutions for technology scaling. We offer both six-month co-op and three-month summer internship options.
What you'll do#
- Complete two or three metrology projects and present your results to the team.
- Plan, design, and run experiments in a semiconductor cleanroom.
- Analyze semiconductor structure metrology data using Excel and JMP.
- Develop applications for next generation processes and technologies.
- Evaluate new metrology tools to find cost-effective solutions for R&D and high-volume manufacturing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an M.S. or Ph.D. program in Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or a related field, with a graduation date no earlier than September 2027.
- Understanding of optical metrology and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
- Background in data science and large data analytics.
- Experience with instrumentation and calibration procedures.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as MATLAB and Python.
