About the role#
The Fleet Technologies Group at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority manages projects that improve urban transit operations and customer communication. This internship focuses on supporting enterprise applications like Bus Time, Bus Trek, Yard Trek, and Transit Signal Priority. You will contribute to the development, maintenance, and analysis of these systems while assisting with data-driven initiatives to improve fleet performance.
What you'll do#
- Design new features, reports, and analytical tools for existing applications.
- Write, test, and deploy code for new features and bug fixes.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues within codebases.
- Create or update documentation for workflows and software features.
- Assist with the maintenance of server environments and containers on AWS.
- Build automated tools to extract data and perform ad hoc data collection.
- Analyze data to identify performance trends and present findings with actionable recommendations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a graduate program with a minimum 2.8 GPA.
- Preferred majors include Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Capacity to manage tasks effectively and work under pressure with a keen eye for detail.
