About the role#
The Emerging Talent team at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority manages recruitment initiatives and internship programs to develop early-career talent. As a Visual Design Intern, you will help build our visual identity by creating branded assets, templates, and promotional materials. You will work on projects such as developing a library of reusable illustrations and designing engagement materials for career fairs. This is a paid, part-time position based at our headquarters.
What you'll do#
- Design presentation templates and branded decks for internship programs and info-sessions.
- Create signage, flyers, and digital assets for recruitment events.
- Develop iconography, illustrations, and thematic visuals that align with our brand.
- Support social media content needs and internal communications.
- Assist with motion graphics or basic video edits for promotional campaigns.
- Maintain visual consistency across program documents and onboarding materials.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure all work meets accessibility and brand standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program with at least a 2.5 GPA.
- Majors in Graphic Design, Media Studies, or related fields.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Basic skills in video editing software such as Premiere Pro or Final Cut.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Solid understanding of typography, layout, and color theory.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize work under pressure.
- A portfolio showcasing your design work is strongly preferred.

- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: On-site, minimum of 20 hours per week.
- Compensation: $19.00 per hour for undergraduate students.
- Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the United States.
