About the role#
Our Internal Audit team is looking for a co-op student to support the planning, execution, and reporting of the annual Internal Audit Plan. You will work alongside experienced professionals to gain exposure to audit processes, data analysis, process improvement, and operational governance. You will report to the Senior Manager of Safety Regulatory Inspection and contribute to daily operations and various projects.
What you'll do#
- Provide administrative and technical support, including preparing reports, memos, and presentations.
- Maintain electronic and hard-copy filing systems and support records management.
- Gather, organize, and analyze data to support projects, meetings, and reports.
- Assist audit leads during the planning, execution, and reporting of safety regulatory assessment reviews.
- Review existing processes to identify opportunities for efficiency.
- Develop dashboards, scorecards, spreadsheets, forms, and databases to track performance metrics.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to collect information and respond to inquiries.
- Prepare operational reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and record minutes.
- Participate in occasional travel or field work.
What you'll need#
- Full-time enrollment in a recognized post-secondary co-op program with plans to return to school after the term.
- Enrollment in a technical or management program such as Data Analytics, Project Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate with team members and manage multiple projects at once.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
