About the role#
Metallus Inc. is seeking a Maintenance & Reliability Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This full-time, on-site position in Eaton, Ohio, provides the opportunity to work directly with the maintenance department to improve equipment performance and reliability.
What you'll do#
- Assist in analyzing equipment failures to identify root causes.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including data collection and tracking.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to improve equipment performance.
- Review and update maintenance work instructions and equipment records.
- Analyze downtime data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Maintain and improve data accuracy within the MaintainX CMMS.
- Participate in equipment inspections and condition monitoring activities.
- Contribute to a mean time between failures (MTBF) rate improvement project.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university.
- Completion of at least 30 credit hours by the end of the spring 2027 semester.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Preferred majors include Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
- Familiarity with 2D and 3D drawing software such as AutoCAD or Inventor.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with 5S, lean six sigma, or lean manufacturing principles.
