About the role#
Metallus Inc. is offering a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Canton, Ohio. This on-site role focuses on applying data science and process optimization techniques within a manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist with AI and advanced analytics projects, including data preparation, analysis, and visualization.
- Support continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.
- Analyze manufacturing, reliability, and operational data to identify opportunities to improve OEE, throughput, quality, and cost.
- Present your findings, insights, and recommendations to the team at the end of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university.
- Completion of at least 30 credit hours by the end of the spring 2027 semester.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Preferred majors include Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Business Administration.
- Exposure to Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement concepts.
- Coursework or experience related to AI, machine learning, or data science.
