About the role#
Metallus Inc. is offering a full-time Process Improvement & AI internship for the summer of 2027. This role provides an opportunity to gain practical experience within a manufacturing environment by working on advanced analytics and operational optimization projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with AI and advanced analytics projects, including data preparation, analysis, and visualization.
- Support continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives within manufacturing operations.
- Analyze manufacturing, reliability, and operational data to identify opportunities to improve OEE, throughput, quality, and cost.
- Present findings, insights, and recommendations at the end of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university.
- Completion of at least 30 credit hours by the end of the spring 2027 semester.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Preferred majors include Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Administration, Mathematics, or related fields.
- Exposure to Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement concepts.
- Coursework or experience related to AI, machine learning, or data science.
