About the role#
McLeod Health is hiring a Nurse Extern for the Surgery II department. This is a part-time, on-site role based in Florence, South Carolina. You will work in a clinical setting to support patient care and gain hands-on experience.
What you'll do#
- Perform direct care tasks and record patient data.
- Conduct hourly rounds using service excellence standards.
- Assist patients with nutritional and hydration needs, including feeding and providing fluids.
- Maintain cleanliness for patients and the unit environment.
- Communicate patient information to the interdisciplinary team.
- Promote a safe and comfortable environment for visitors and patients.
- Recognize normal growth and development signs across different age groups.
- Handle medication safety and storage protocols.
- Carry out general transportation and courier duties.
- Use health and safety practices to protect staff and patients.
- Set professional goals and participate in evidence-based tasks.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one semester of a nursing program.
- Basic Life Support certification.
