About the role#
McLeod Health is hiring an Athletic Trainer Extern to provide sports medicine support. You will work under the direct supervision of certified athletic trainers and healthcare professionals. This role offers hands-on clinical experience in injury prevention, rehabilitation, and patient care.
What you'll do#
- Assist with physical examinations, injury evaluations, and patient care activities.
- Support medical documentation and daily facility operations.
- Help develop and implement rehabilitation programs for injured patients.
- Participate in injury prevention and wellness initiatives.
- Assist with departmental policies and procedures.
- Provide support during practices, athletic competitions, and special events.
- Maintain professional conduct and appearance at all times.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in an accredited Athletic Training or Sports Medicine program.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Basic understanding of anatomy, injury assessment, emergency care, and therapeutic exercise.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous clinical experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Florence, South Carolina.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: PRN (as needed). This includes flexible hours, evenings, weekends, and attendance at athletic events.
- Employment Status: Part-time, paid.
