    About the role#

    This Nurse Extern position in the Neuroscience Care Unit (NSCU) offers nursing students the chance to gain clinical experience in a hospital setting. You will assist the care team by performing direct patient care tasks and supporting unit operations. This is a PRN role, meaning you will work as needed and as scheduled.

    What you'll do#

    • Support patient care by performing nutritional and hydration interventions like feeding or providing fluids.
    • Maintain cleanliness for patients and the unit environment.
    • Conduct hourly rounds following service excellence standards.
    • Collect and record patient data while communicating observations to the interdisciplinary team.
    • Help ensure patient safety by following proper medication storage and health protocols.
    • Assist with general transportation and courier duties.
    • Promote a comfortable environment for patients and their visitors.
    • Participate in evidence-based tasks to support your professional growth.

    What you'll need#

    • Completion of at least one semester of a nursing program.
    • Basic Life Support certification.
