About the role#
This Nurse Extern position in the Neuroscience Care Unit (NSCU) offers nursing students the chance to gain clinical experience in a hospital setting. You will assist the care team by performing direct patient care tasks and supporting unit operations. This is a PRN role, meaning you will work as needed and as scheduled.
What you'll do#
- Support patient care by performing nutritional and hydration interventions like feeding or providing fluids.
- Maintain cleanliness for patients and the unit environment.
- Conduct hourly rounds following service excellence standards.
- Collect and record patient data while communicating observations to the interdisciplinary team.
- Help ensure patient safety by following proper medication storage and health protocols.
- Assist with general transportation and courier duties.
- Promote a comfortable environment for patients and their visitors.
- Participate in evidence-based tasks to support your professional growth.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one semester of a nursing program.
- Basic Life Support certification.
