About the role#
McLeod Health is hiring a Nurse Extern for a part-time, PRN role in Little River, South Carolina. This position supports our medical-surgical unit and is open to nursing students who have completed at least one semester of their program.
What you'll do#
- Perform direct patient care tasks and record patient data.
- Conduct hourly rounds using established service excellence standards.
- Assist with nutritional and hydration needs, such as feeding and providing fluids.
- Maintain cleanliness for patients, their immediate environment, and the unit.
- Recognize signs of growth and development in the aging patient population.
- Communicate relevant patient information to the interdisciplinary team.
- Follow safety protocols for medication storage and general health practices to protect staff and patients.
- Handle general transportation and courier duties as needed.
- Engage in professional growth by setting goals and participating in evidence-based tasks.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one semester of a Nursing Program.
- Current Basic Life Support certification.
- Membership in Occupation Risk Assessment.
