About the role#
The Financial Planning Intern will support our staff in servicing high net worth and ultra high net worth clients. You will gain hands-on experience in advisory, consultative, and business development skills by supporting advisors with client onboarding, meeting preparation, and the creation of financial plans.
What you'll do#
- Support client onboarding by preparing and processing paperwork.
- Assist with scheduling client meetings and creating materials to explain financial concepts.
- Observe client meetings to learn how advisors build relationships and solve client challenges.
- Participate in meeting follow-up tasks like research, documentation, and solution development.
- Use CRM and financial planning software for data management and plan modeling.
- Help with account maintenance, money movement, and compiling plan deliverables.
- Contribute ideas during team discussions regarding client service and business development.
- Collaborate on special projects and client service initiatives.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, wealth management, financial planning, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date is within 12 months of the internship start.
- Demonstrated leadership through work or extracurricular activities.
- A strong interest in a client-facing advisory career.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with a willingness to learn CRM and financial planning tools.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex topics in a simple way.
- A detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
- A customer service orientation and comfort sharing ideas in group settings.
