About the role#
This paid internship offers students exposure to the financial services industry through a 12-week program. You will work with various levels of management to support client needs and gain practical insight into banking operations.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with management teams across the business line.
- Assist with functions that support everyday banking needs.
- Observe frontline associates and Regional Operations Managers during their daily and weekly work.
- Help bankers as they assist clients with their banking needs.
- Support management in executing sales processes.
- Participate in a coordinated community service project.
- Present your accomplishments and key learnings to senior leadership at the end of the program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time Bachelor or higher degree-seeking student at an accredited college or university.
- Majors in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Demonstrated interest in the financial services industry.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week from May 17 to August 6, 2027.
- Willingness to travel periodically throughout the First Merchants footprint.
- Traits including initiative, enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, a team mentality, and self-motivation.
Location & details#
This is a full-time, on-site internship for Summer 2027. Positions are located in Plainfield, Greenwood, Noblesville, Greenfield, and Carmel, Indiana.
