About the role#
This internship program provides exposure to actuarial disciplines including pricing, valuation, modeling, risk management, and asset liability management. You will work within one of our actuarial departments to develop technical and business skills while collaborating with experienced professionals.
What you'll do#
- Work within an actuarial department for the duration of the summer.
- Participate in meetings with your manager and team to establish work priorities.
- Complete process improvement projects to increase departmental efficiency.
- Present project results and recommendations to your manager and other stakeholders.
- Attend events featuring speakers from various departments to build your business knowledge and professional skills.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong GPA and success in relevant coursework.
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Highly motivated, results-driven self-starter capable of working under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with the Society of Actuaries (SOA) qualification process.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and programming skills.
- Relevant actuarial experience and a commitment to FSA designations, such as passing at least one SOA exam.
- Ability to grasp the big picture.
Location & details#
- Location: Boston, Massachusetts.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May to August).
- Work Modality: Hybrid (in-office Tuesday to Thursday, remote Mondays and Fridays).
- Employment Type: Full time, paid internship.
