About the role#
Encova Insurance is hiring an Actuarial Intern for our corporate office in Columbus, Ohio. This is a full-time, paid summer internship for 2027. You will work at least 40 hours per week in a hybrid environment. This role focuses on reserving and offers a chance to gain experience in the insurance industry.
What you'll do#
- Work side-by-side with experienced actuaries.
- Translate your classroom knowledge into a practical foundation.
- Manage real world situations.
- Learn about the insurance industry through authentic work experiences.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or data science degree program.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.
- Strong mathematical and technical aptitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information to non-technical audiences.
- High attention to detail.
- Sophomore or junior level standing is preferred.
- Completion of one to two actuarial exams is desired.
