About the role#
First Chicago Insurance Company is hiring an Actuarial Intern to join the Product and Actuarial Analysis department. This role offers hands-on experience with insurance concepts and various actuarial projects. You will work with insurance products including Non-Standard Auto, Commercial Auto, and General Liability.
What you'll do#
- Assist with new product development, such as competitive rate comparisons and other studies.
- Prepare filings for state departments of insurance and create supporting exhibits.
- Perform data preparation and reserve reviews across different lines of business.
- Create and maintain monthly and quarterly financial reports.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, with a willingness to work part-time during the school year.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Passing SOA or CAS exams is a plus, though not required.
