About the role#
As a Student Intern in Maintenance, you will report to the facility maintenance manager. Your work focuses on keeping the center clean and orderly while following government and management directives. This role is paid at $17.99 an hour.
What you'll do#
- Maintain and preserve flooring by scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing, and sweeping.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and fixtures.
- Wash walls, windows, ceilings, and woodwork.
- Dust furniture including desks, bookshelves, and cabinets.
- Collect trash and debris from grounds, streets, and parking lots.
- Sweep exterior steps, entrances, and sidewalks.
- Use cleaning compounds, waxes, and disinfectants.
- Care for grounds by weeding, mowing, trimming, planting, and fertilizing.
- Prune and spray trees and shrubs.
- Participate in student employability programs.
- Maintain student and property accountability while following safety practices.
- Provide quality customer service to students and staff.
- Support and enforce the Job Corps Zero Tolerance Policy.
- Model appropriate behaviors and mentor students to promote Career Success Standards.
- Ensure the center remains free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current student attending the Joliet Job Corps Center.

- This role is located in Joliet, Illinois.
- The position is on-site and full-time with a rolling term.
