About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in facility maintenance. You will work under the direction of the maintenance manager to keep the campus safe, clean, and in good repair. This is a part-time position that requires reliability and a willingness to work evenings and some weekends.
What you'll do#
- Assist staff with routine repairs and general building upkeep.
- Perform tasks like painting, patching, moving materials, and replacing fixtures.
- Help inspect buildings, common areas, and equipment for maintenance needs.
- Support grounds maintenance, including landscaping assistance and debris cleanup.
- Carry out basic preventive maintenance activities.
- Use tools and equipment properly while following all safety procedures.
- Wear required personal protective equipment and report any unsafe conditions or damaged gear.
- Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with students and staff.
- Attend scheduled work-based learning activities on time.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current Job Corps student.
- You must be a completer and ready for work-based learning.
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- You must have your student card.
