About the role#
This summer internship offers a 10-week program focused on professional development and skill building. You will join the Commercial Performance Management team, which analyzes data to assess performance trends and opportunities across commercial business lines. Your work will involve collaborating with business leadership and strategy teams to measure progress toward key objectives. Interns gain exposure to various departments through guest speakers and build a professional network with peers.
What you'll do#
- Perform duties of an entry-level professional nature within your assigned area.
- Ensure all activities follow internal policies and external regulations.
- Follow company risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls.
- Identify and escalate risk-related issues to management.
- Design, implement, and maintain internal controls to mitigate risk.
- Maintain internal control standards, including addressing audit points and regulator concerns.
- Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Complete other related tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Operations Management, Computer Science, Data Science, or Statistics.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated computer, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
