About the role#
The LIU Internship offers a hands-on look at the live entertainment industry. You will work across various departments in a concert venue setting, gaining practical experience in operations, ticketing, and production. This program is designed for those interested in behind-the-scenes career paths within venue management and concert operations.
What you'll do#
- Greet guests and scan tickets upon entry.
- Assist guests with finding their seats.
- Facilitate night-of-show Will Call and Guest List operations.
- Research concepts for artist, fan, and employee engagement gifts and incentives.
- Support on-site premium seat programs and client services.
- Help set up and tear down venue assets like tables, chairs, tents, and signage.
- Research new food and beverage products and genre-specific planning.
- Observe concert load-in and load-out processes.
- Prepare merchandise stand displays and assist with inventory management.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in live music and the music industry.
- Creative problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team to execute programs.
- High sense of responsibility in an ever-changing environment.
- Willingness to work in various departments within a concert venue.
- Reliable transportation to concert venues throughout the city.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift or carry 25+ lbs.
- Comfort with occasional sitting in indoor and outdoor environments.
