About the role#
As a Student Radiology Tech at Harris Regional Hospital, you will gain hands-on experience in a clinical environment. You will assist our medical team in providing diagnostic imaging services to patients ranging from neonates to geriatric populations. This is a full-time, paid position that requires a flexible work schedule.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine diagnostic imaging studies as needed.
- Provide accurate patient positioning and handle computer entries.
- Maintain exam accuracy by ensuring correct labeling, minimum views, and appropriate patient dose.
- Educate patients on procedures to help relieve anxiety.
- Assist in keeping the work area clean and free from hazards.
- Report equipment malfunctions or supply issues to your supervisor.
- Collaborate with staff to maintain efficient department operations.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Diploma, or Associate Degree program in Radiologic Technology.
- Basic Life Support certification, which must be obtained within 30 days of your start date.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, radiation safety, and infection control.
