About the role#
As a Nurse Extern at Rutherford Regional Health System, you will gain clinical experience while supporting our patient care teams. This position is designed to build your skills, confidence, and clinical judgment as you prepare for your future as a Registered Nurse.
What you'll do#
You will work under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse to support safe patient care. Your responsibilities include:
- Performing direct patient care.
- Assisting patients with activities of daily living, such as hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and elimination.
- Monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions to the supervising RN.
- Documenting care according to hospital standards.
- Evaluating patient and family learning needs and providing education.
- Collaborating with the healthcare team to support patient needs, including transfers and discharges.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited School of Nursing (1st year or higher).
- Active CNA certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and communicate well with the team.
Location & details#
- Location: Rutherfordton, North Carolina.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Self-scheduling PRN, with a minimum requirement of 24 hours per month.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
